Who we are and what these terms cover
One Thousand Drones, LLC (“we”, “us”) runs onethousanddrones.com, One Thousand Drones Academy, the Hex Cluster configurator and the live demos linked from them (together, “the sites”). By using the sites you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
How we handle your data is set out in the Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Using the sites
You may use the sites for lawful purposes. Please do not attempt to break or probe their security, overload them, scrape them at scale, get around access controls or paywalls, or use them to send spam or malicious code.
Accounts
Some Academy features need an account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us through onethousanddrones.com/contact if you think someone else has used it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Our content and your license to it
The sites, their text, images, video, code, course material and designs belong to us or our licensors, and all rights not granted are reserved. Academy software and course content are licensed under the One Thousand Drones license.
Where a file is marked with an open license, that license governs it instead. The Hex Cluster part files, for example, are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0).
Trademarks
Aplomado™, OIDAT™, Hex Cluster™, OTD Academy™, One Thousand Drones™, the bee logo, the Aplomado falcon mark, the Aplomado honeycomb wordmark, the Hex Cluster comb mark and the OTD Academy logo (including their animated forms) are trademarks of One Thousand Drones, LLC. You may not use them in a way that suggests we endorse or sponsor you, or that is likely to confuse. Other names and marks on the sites belong to their owners.
Purchases
Prices, what a purchase includes and any refund terms are shown at checkout, and those terms apply to that purchase. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
The live demos and research material
The brain–computer interface demos run on recorded or simulated signals and are shown for illustration. They are not a product you can rely on to control any real aircraft or equipment. Aplomado HID and OIDAT software has been tested on simulated signals only; the headsets shown are in development, and specifications may change.
OIDAT (operator incapacitation detection and authority transfer) has been tested on simulated signals only. It has not been validated on people, has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or any other regulator, and is not for clinical, diagnostic or operational use. Nothing on the sites is medical advice.
Building and flying
If you build, print or fly anything using material from the sites, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for doing it safely and lawfully, including aviation rules and export-control laws that apply to you.
No warranty
The sites and their content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about the sites is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100 if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Links to other sites
The sites link to services we do not run, such as GitHub and YouTube. Their own terms apply there, and we are not responsible for them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top, and significant changes will be called out on the sites. Continuing to use the sites after a change means you accept it.
Contact
Questions about these terms go to onethousanddrones.com/contact, or by mail to One Thousand Drones, LLC, 9905 S Pennsylvania Ave, Ste A, Oklahoma City, OK 73159, USA.
